Selected Work

This collection shows how I use design to help a business communicate clearly and feel more like itself.

One project, from strategy through launch.

01 / FEATURED PROJECT

The Hartford Edit

The Hartford Edit

The Hartford Edit is my studio and my first case study. I built it to show how I work: listen carefully, communicate clearly, and make design useful to the people it serves.

Project Overview

The inspiration came from a simple desire to create a design studio that felt like a real conversation. I wanted to work with small businesses and community-minded people who care deeply about what they do, but may not have the language or budget of a large organization. The brand needed to feel refined without feeling distant, organized without feeling rigid, and creative without losing its sense of trust.

Goals

The goal was not to invent a personality from scratch. It was to make the existing values visible: warmth, care, clarity, honesty, and a belief that every business already has a story worth telling. The identity needed to speak to people who want professional design but still want to feel understood.

Creative Process

The process started with questions: What should this studio feel like to work with? What would make a first-time client feel comfortable? What kind of design would leave room for a client’s story instead of putting the designer at the center? I kept returning to the idea that art is about the artist, but design is about the viewer. The work should support the person on the other side of it.

Brand Identity

One of the most meaningful parts of creating The Hartford Edit was designing its logo.

It was inspired by my dad's small business and a logo he once sketched on a napkin years ago. I had the opportunity to translate that simple idea into a polished visual identity for his company—a reminder that great design often begins with a meaningful story, not a perfect sketch.

When it came time to build my own business, I wanted to carry a piece of that story forward. The Hartford Edit's logo is my way of honoring where I learned the value of hard work, small businesses, and creating something with care. It serves as a quiet reminder that every business has a story worth telling, and thoughtful design can help bring that story into focus.

Website Design

The website was designed to feel like an open door. The writing is direct and conversational, the navigation is simple, and the page rhythm gives each idea enough room to breathe. Instead of leading with a list of claims, the site explains how the studio works and who it is for. That choice matters because trust is built through clarity, especially for someone hiring a designer for the first time.

Final Outcome

The final result is a studio identity that feels like an honest reflection of its purpose: polished, but not intimidating; distinctive, but not loud; organized, but still human. It gives The Hartford Edit a foundation to grow from while keeping the focus where it belongs — on the businesses and communities the studio hopes to serve.

LOOKING AHEAD

This collection will grow as new client work is completed.

The Hartford Edit is a new studio, and this first project shows how I listen, think, and make decisions. As new client work is completed, this collection will grow.
